Sweet, sexy and mood-boosting, this is happiness in a bottle

Nobody does evocative scents quite like Guerlain. Masters of the craft, it has been innovating in the fragrance field since 1828, after opening its first boutique in the heart of Paris, at the now-iconic 42, rue de Rivoli. Nearly two centuries and some 1,100 fragrances later, Guerlain has launched Aqua Allegoria Florabloom Eau de Toilette and Florabloom Forte Eau de Parfum – and the newest additions to its roster are poised to become modern classics.

What does Guerlain Florabloom smell like?

It’s no secret that the power of fragrance can be hugely transformative, managing to lift your mood with a single spritz. Aqua Allegoria Florabloom has that power in spades.

Drawing inspiration from a superbloom – a rare natural phenomenon that happens in the deserts of California and Arizona after heavy rainfall, creating a blanket of millions of rainbow-coloured wildflowers over the hills and valleys – Florabloom, too, is a floral riot.

Using 90% natural origin ingredients*, the scent is an irresistible blend of tuberose, luxurious Grasse Centifolia rose (reputed to be the world's best-smelling rose) underpinned with sandalwood and velvety moss. It’s a crowdpleaser that’s guaranteed to get you compliments.

You’ll like this if…

You like floral scents with a woody twist.

There’s an intoxicating mix of sweet rose and warming notes of violet and sandalwood, so both Florablooms will work especially well for spring and summer. Think of this as an olfactory signal that warmer days are to come. Plus, the bottle will look decidedly decadent on show in your bedroom.

How long does the scent last?

While an eau de parfum is traditionally more intense and therefore longer lasting, I found the Aqua Allegoria Florabloom Eau de Toilette lasted all day on my skin, thanks to the heady combination of florals, rose and sandalwood.

Spray the fragrance directly on to your skin focusing on the pulse points on your wrists, nape of your neck and inside your elbows. Try not to rub your wrists together as this ‘crushes’ the notes. Instead, let the scent settle naturally into your skin for a longer-lasting intensity.

You can also create your own signature fragrance by combining Florabloom with Nettare di Sole, Pera Granita, Rosa Palissandro Forte or Santal Royal.

What’s special about Guerlain?

As part of Guerlain’s ongoing commitment to the planet, its traceable supply chain uses sustainable, raw materials and puts a focus on protecting the world’s most important pollinator, bees. So much so, these ‘guardians of biodiversity’ are the emblem of the House of Guerlain and the star of the Florabloom glass bottle, which is encased in a gold honeycomb shell.

The full Aqua Allegoria collection of fragrances are also housed in refillable, screw-top bottles made in France from at least 15% recycled glass, meaning you can extend the life of your bottle by using a 200ml refill (compatible with the refillable 75ml and 125ml bottles).
