What happens if you use a normal pan on an induction hob?
If you use a normal pan on an induction hob, it will not work properly. Induction hobs require cookware with a magnetic base, such as stainless steel or cast iron, in order to work. This is because induction hobs use magnetic fields to heat up the cookware directly, rather than heating the surface of the hob itself. Normal pans, such as those made from aluminium, copper, or glass, do not have a magnetic base and therefore cannot be used on an induction hob. The hob will not detect the pan and will not generate any heat, so the pan will not get hot and you will not be able to cook anything.
