Does Vitamin C serum hydrate skin?
While vitamin C serum is primarily known for its antioxidant properties and ability to brighten and even out skin tone, it can also provide some level of hydration to the skin. However, it's important to note that vitamin C serum is not primarily designed as a hydrating product. If your skin is particularly dry or dehydrated, it's best to use a dedicated moisturiser in addition to a vitamin C serum to ensure that your skin is properly hydrated.
How to apply hydrating serum
To apply a hydrating serum, begin by cleansing your skin with a gentle cleanser. After drying with a soft towel, take a few drops of the hydrating serum onto your fingertips or palm. You may need to shake the bottle or mix the product with your fingertips to activate the ingredients. Gently apply the serum to your face and neck, using upward and outward motions whilst avoiding the eye area. Allow the serum to fully absorb into your skin before applying any additional products, such as a moisturiser or sunscreen. It's best to use a hydrating serum as part of your daily skincare routine, ideally in the morning and at night after cleansing and toning.
