How to season a wok
When it comes to seasoning a wok for optimal cooking performance, following a few simple steps can make a significant difference. If you have a wok that is non-stick, start by thoroughly washing it with warm soapy water to remove any protective coating. Next, heat the wok over medium-high heat until it's smoking hot, then add a tablespoon of oil and spread it evenly across the surface. Allow the wok to cool, and then wipe away excess oil with a paper towel. Repeat this process several times to build a natural non-stick coating.
