Good but with flaws

Overall pleased with the monitor, which was bought to replace a sound only monitor. The movement mat really gives me peace of mind and is working well even though my son has taken to rolling right to the side of the cot.
However there are a couple of design flaws that really annoy me. The biggest being that the sound on the parent unit switches off after a period of quiet - although it comes back on automatically once a noise is detected, it's after the noise happens so if your baby just gives a little short sleep noise then you won't hear that itself, you will just be aware that a noise has happened because the monitor starts transmitting sound again. Personally I would have preferred a constant sound transmission, or at least for the automatic shut off to be an optional feature.
Also there's no clock on the monitor so when I'm woken in the night I can't immediately see the time to consider what it is my baby likely wants - a feed or just to be resettled etc.
Once my son is a bit older and we don't feel the need to monitor his movement, we will switch back to our old sound only monitor but for now I'm definitely pleased we're using it.

Bought this product based on the reviews and awards for my newborn. He has not yet slept in his cot to use it but it was easy to set up and install. Hopefully it'll prove to be as good as all the reviews.

Great baby monitor

I bought this monitor for my first baby and have been delighted with it. It provides so much peace of mind, and definitely works (as the alarm has gone off whenever I have lifted my baby out of his crib and forgotten to switch it off). The portable monitor allows you to keep an ear on your baby all around the house. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Excellent product

My baby is now 5 months old. I have used this system since day 1.
I found it easy to set up, easy to install. I have never had any false alarms and the system works perfectly every time.
For the first time this week the alarm went off in the middle of the night. I ran in to check my little boy to find he had rolled over and had his arms and legs outside the cot. He was fine but I think I need to reposition my mat. I was grateful the alarm had gone off.
Many of my friends told me not to buy a monitor with a mat. I personally love it. I love the fact I can put him n his tummy and not worry. I love the fact I can sleep with the knowledge I would be alerted in an emergency.

Life saver

The angel care monitor can be slightly daunting at set up and this is not helped by an overly complicated manual. However, once it is set up correctly the unit really is a life saver and offer peace of mind.
This unit alerted me when my baby stopped breathing or had breathing difficulties (she was face down on a small teddy that we'd forgotten to remove) and I believe it prevented an accident.
Would not be without it. However I have only given it 4 stars as I've also had a couple of false alerts now that my baby is mobile in her cot.

Very poor parent unit

We purchased this product online after a recommendation from a friend only to be very disappointed.
The parent unit did not sit in it's base properly and therefore I assume did not charge properly. The manufacturer suggests charging for 15 hours prior to first use. After 36 hours of trying to charge the parent unit, it would switch on only to immediately switch itself off. Not a very well designed product.
We have since returned the product to JL.
